OpenSeadragon and Deep Zoom

OpenSeadragon is an open-source viewer that lets visitors pan across high-resolution images and zoom into fine details, much like exploring an interactive map.

Deep Zoom prepares an image as small tiles at several resolution levels. The viewer loads the tiles needed for the area and magnification on screen, allowing visitors to explore without first downloading the entire full-resolution image.

This is useful for artwork, historical documents, maps, research imagery, product samples, and inspection photographs where ordinary gallery enlargement does not reveal enough detail.

High-resolution viewing is especially useful for:
